Copying and pasting is one of the most frequently used tasks in Excel. In this article will learn how many ways we can past the values. In this will focus most frequently used ones.
1) With Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v option:
Select the range of data you want to copy and press Ctrl+c. Data will be copied, Now select the destination where you want to paste those values. Then press Ctrl+ v
2)Keep source column width:
By using this option we can paste the values in the same width as per the original content.
Below is the example:
Compare Table A & B values pasted using Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v. There is a change in the columns width it is adjusted as per new columns width. That means layout is not copied only data is copied.
Compare Table A and C: I have used 'Keep source column width' In table C values are pasted along with the Table A columns widths.
- We can save the time and effort instead of manually adjusting the new data we can use this paste option.
- By keeping the same source layout it helps the readability.
